Marcs’ View on “Just Do It”
Well, I finished the book a couple of days ago and my first thought when I saw the title was Wow! Nike let them use those three words in that order without filing some sort of copyright infringement lawsuit threats! As for the book…
Just Do It is a light and easy read about Doug and Annie’s wild adventure in today’s busy world with marriage, careers and kids. This is Doug’s diary from the conception of the challenge through to his musings in retrospect of the 101 consecutive days/ nights of sex and the daily grind ( no pun intended).
He discusses the planning they did. How they could pull off 100 days of sex, whether or bit they would use sex toys, lubes, and even porn to keep them in the mood. If they could keep things interesting for those 100 days.
He discusses the perks and rewards along the way, and even a few different venues for sex, not just your lights out, in bed, at night type of sex.
Like I said, it is an easy read, from Doug’s narrative viewpoint. I enjoyed the book and had to laugh a number of times at some of the times where it might seem they might not do the deed because of exhaustion, times of the month, as well as the kids lack of cooperation.
But, Doug the “Ginger whisperer” would come through, or a quickie would ensue, or they just did it, and the streak continued. It was something I could relate to as the father of eight.
Because of my own personal hang ups with sex, and the misconceptions that were instilled in me early on this would not have been a book I would have picked up for myself to read. Fortunately Marye and I have gotten past those issues and I have dealt with those problems.
Thanks Doug & Annie, for considering our opinions.
I recommend Just Do It.
Annie, we may need to hear more from your side of the story. It doesn’t give us enough from your perspective and lets face it, you were a major part of this story.
This isn’t a marriage building or how to improve your marriage type book, but more of a recreational read. And if you are married, with or without kids, a one ore two income family, you will find a lot in this book to relate to.
Keep up the good work.
Blessings,
Marc
