Being that I have a marriage book from the library that’s been sitting on my shelf for weeks and I haven’t really picked it up, I thought A Thousand Springs: The Biography of a Marriage would be appropriate here.
“I shook my head firmly. ‘I must get to my grandparents’ home. They’re expecting me.’”
The book, written by Anna Chennault, is the biography of her marriage with General Chennault. From the book jacket:
“Anna Chan was the first woman correspondent for the Central News Agency, China’s largest, leading press, when she met and interviewed General Chennault for the first time in 1944. Three years later when they were married, friends called it an impossible union. Anna was only twenty-four years old, the General fifty-four; she was Chinese, he American; she was a Catholic, he a Protestant. Yet in spite of this, it was until the General’s death in 1958, ‘a marriage made in Heaven.’”
Thanks for the tag, Peggy. I’m looking forward to getting into this story now. :)
Do you have any favorite marriage stories or books about a marriage?

I read Breathing Lessons by Anne Tyler a long time ago before I could really appreciate the nuances of a marriage.
