So, What’s a Marriage Blog Without a Post on Valentine’s Day?
I don’t know, cuz this one’s got one!
It’s a quiet Valentine’s Day around Breezemoor. (That’s what I’ve named our house, because of the wind that whips around the front porch and because houses with names sound classier.) I worked; the neighbors came over to play and we all had dinner together. Thursday’s normally bring a church meeting as well for us, but last minute commitments kept us apart. So Kerri is off with the afore mentioned neighbor doing some scrapping. Me? I’m wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day before grabbing a cuppa and logging off for the night. All is well here, and it’s kind of nice to be comfortable with each other.
We did exchange gifts earlier. We are still working our way toward freedom from debt, so the gifts were modest. We got each other the coffee grinder we were shocked not to have received from someone at Christmas. (Shocked, I tell you! Shocked!) Kerri is getting a few photos framed for my office, mostly pictures of the kids but a couple others that are brilliant. If you don’t mind my bragging, Kerri has a wonderful eye; she really ought to share more of those photos with the world. I got some whole bean coffee for said grinder - Highlander Grogg from Boston Stoker - and a Burt’s Bees Head to Toe Starter Kit. And for my mini-valentine, I grabbed a couple booster packs of Pokemon cards. Have I mentioned how psyched I am to have a kid (1) old enough for these kinds of games; and (2) actually interested in these kinds of games? The geek in me is so proud. Now if only I can figure out how to win.
So, that’s Valentine’s Day around the Marriage Actually home. I hope you and yours have a day that reminds you of your love for one another.
