A New Marriage in the New Year

A new year is upon us. Does anyone else get flashbacks to childhood games of hide-and-seek? Are you, like me, still standing in the middle of the field when already 2008 has jumped up and shouted, “Ready or not, here I come!”
Just me then, yeah?
Anyway, here’s my challenge to all you brides and grooms out there. In 2008 fall in love with your spouse all over again. Perhaps you’re newly married, in which case this should be easy for you. For those of us who have been married a few years (or a few decades) this may be more challenging. As time passes, it can be easy to take the good things about our spouses for granted.
Well, don’t take it lying down. In 2008 fight back against that temptation and remember the things about your spouse that drew you to him or her in the beginning.
Because I want to set a good example, here are five things for Kerri. (’Cuz I know she’ll read this, and it’s kind of like a surprise here.)
- Her spontaneity - True, it drives me crazy sometimes, but it’s also one of the things I love. Nicely balances my sometimes
ploddingdeliberate nature. - Her sense of humor - She now, she was talking smack to the Wii.
- Her love of giving - Hers is truly a generous heart.
- Her freckles - She’s got one on her upper lip and a couple on her eyes, that are just too cute.
- Her tears - As someone who can’t remember the last time he cried, I appreciate each one she sheds… whether I understand it or not.
There… now go fall in love with YOUR spouse all over again in 2008.

#5 is the best! That was so sweet of you to say that your wife. :) Keep the love alive, Kerri and Baldman!
