Carnival of Family Life at Write from Karen

This week’s Carnival of Family Life is being hosted at Write from Karen. She personally read all 76 entries!!!! I can’t promise that I’ll do the same, but I’ve read enough to share these posts with you. :)

I’m often amazed when I hear the huge expenses given for weddings. I know we all have differences of what a dream wedding is, and of what is reasonable to spend for the event, and that can be seen in the great variations of weddings themselves! Ours was pretty inexpensive, we were surrounded by friends, and everyone seemed to have a good time. That met our dream requirement. Oh, and we were married by the end of it all. That was the most important. ;) If you’re looking for ideas to keep your own or a wedding that you’re involved in fairly inexpensive, read 100 Creative Ways to Cut Wedding Costs at Credit Card Lowdown.

Curmudgeonly Yours shares Tea and trifles posted at hizzenherz. I’m so glad that we’re not the only ones who engage regularly in such high brow conversations. :P You do remember the spaghetti story, yeah?

If you’d like to participate in next week’s carnival, submit a family-related post here.

Don’t get me started on spaghetti. I had a little disagreement with my wife recently about spaghetti. Isla likes to break it in half before she puts it in a pan of boiling water. And that’s something that I find incredibly annoying.

I prefer to eat spaghetti when it’s not half its proper length, though she doesn’t think it makes a difference. But it does. For starters, when I twirl inappropriately sized spaghetti on my fork the end of it quickly flips around and any sauce on it flies off and splashes onto my shirt front, or table (in the rare instances that I’m sitting at a table). This doesn’t happen when the spaghetti isn’t messed with. Hmph!

Curmudgeonly: I don’t think I realized that people ever cooked it without breaking it! Hmmm…maybe we’ll go crazy and try it all full-length next time. :P
