5 Reasons to Get and Stay Married
Okay, so, a little while back I wrote my tongue-in-cheek list of reasons to not get
married. A few of you mentioned that we needed a few reasons to get married. Here’s me fulfilling my end of the deal:
5. Makes winter nights a bit cozier. Especially if you’re married to the human heater. Most of the time, it’s a good thing. Extremely hot already in the midst of pregnancy? Not so much cozy as sweltering. I can only imagine how fun menopause will be. But OTHER THAN THAT, great.
4. Two entrées to try when you go out. Especially if you can talk up how good one looks, get him to order it, then order the other one you wanted to try for yourself. Hypothetically, of course, I think this could work.
3. Warm toilet seat. This isn’t always the case, but sometimes it’s an odd treat. The cost of enduring the other result of the warm seat may outweigh the benefit, though.
2. There’s someone there to tell you how pretty they think you are. Even if you know that, at the moment, your appearance rivals that of Beetlejuice. (Yes, I just said marriage is good because someone will lie to you and tell you that you’re pretty even when you know you’re not. So sue me.)
And the number one reason to get and stay married….
Because what’s better entertainment than taking your own family’s craziness, throwing it in a pot with someone else’s family’s craziness, stirrin’ it a bit and seeing what cooks up?

That is hilarious and so very true. Sometimes the little white lie is worth it. I know my husband must love me to tell me I look great at 5am. My bed head alone must cause him PTSD flashbacks.
Warm toilet seat idea…not so much, but funny nonetheless.

That toilet is not clean!!!
As for warm toilet seats, you should go Japanese. When we were living in Japan, it was always a shock to visit family in the US where the seats felt ice cold.

Anna: Thanks. :) I do envy Bald Man the get-up-and-go hairdo, though not enough to try it myself, yet. :P
Hsien: Oh honey, you would’ve died if you’d seen some of the results of the Flickr toilet search. Ewwww… Warm toilet seats in Japan? Interesting. You teach me so much! :D

Hsien, for what it’s worth, that photo is from my trip to Japan. (Follow the photo-credit link for more information.) It was an example of a nice Japanese hotel trying to be hygienic with a Western-style toilet.
Kerri, the reason the toilets in Japan aren’t cold is because there’s no seat… From the same trip: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jdigger/65518554/
